Paul,

I did use an ISA card - I hacked an old ISA sound card to suit my needs
(the fingers that I required were present). But yes, I agree it does
look like the bride of Frankenstein.....   ;-)

I'm thinking of making another one, but using a proper ISA prototyping
board as you suggested.

This whole project was essentially "can this software engineer do this
hardware project". And I didn't want to spend a lot of money if the
answer was going to be "no". Now that I know I can do it, I'll improve
on the aesthetics...
