I am thinking about getting a tattoo of the Apple logo. The rainbow

You are hardcore - and as a fellow //e fan, I think thats cool.
With the gay pride movement using the "Rainbow", does the rainbow
Apple logo have to many "Gay" overtones
to have as a tattoo ?
I have an original 1977 Apple sticker in my back window. A couple of my
coworkers teased me about it being a gay support thing. I've seen a
couple other rainbow Apple stickers around Kansas City... one I see
often on my morning commute is on a beat up Toyota pickup.
It's curious that this topic should come up just two days after my
daughter and I speculated about Apple's reasons for changing their
logo from the rainbow apple to the white apple.
I'd never considered the gay association, thinking that it was done
as a cost reduction more than anything else (think unbleached boxes).
But my daughter pointed out that the rainbow logo might turn off a
segment of their prospective market.
After some consideration, particularly about the iPod market, I saw
merit in her argument.
Does anyone know what advertising agency proposed the change, and
what rationale was offered? (Clean, updated image most likely. ;-)
