v5.1 is the latest version of AppleWorks classic.  Under standard
settings (option 5?) from the main menu, there should be an option
(12-15?) for settings on the spreadsheet.  One of these should allow
for more than 1000 rows in a spreadsheet.

How long is takes to sort I have no idea.  Depending on spreadsheet,
one might convert to database and see if that sort is any quicker.  I
suspect not.

My //e and my IIgs both run with 8MHz accelerators so I may not notice
how slow sorts are moving.  Most of my Appleworks use is run under
Deja][ on Macs (OS8-9).
