Re: Overheating problem with GS
It may or may not be the GS.
I have Henry's 200w PS in my GS with the fans completely disconnected.
I run a silent system (no fans of any kind) which includes a TWGS,
Superdrive controller, a Future Sound, 8mb of ram, a CF_Focus card and
a Microdrive with no problems. FYI, that PS gets very cozy without a
fan.
Try running your system without each of the components, and see what
happens. I'd start with the AE card (replace it with an Apple 1mb, or
whatever else you have on hand). If you run the system without each of
those cards and you still crash, then you obviously have a heat
sensitive MB. Replace MB, try again.
One other thing id try is running the microdrive with the CF installed
directly to it. I'm skeptical about transmitting data signals over a
ribbon cable over long distances.
(just trying to eliminate ALL posible variables)
