The entire unit is dead.

I had used it with no problems up until 5 years ago, when we moved, somehow the box the //e was in got put in the basement and is totally trashed with mildew, rust, corroded contacts, etc.

I dug it out a month ago and it looked pretty good shape in the motherboard area, it booted and stayed on for about 5 minutes until the power supply BURNED up.

I opened the case on the PS/ Vulcan and it was all corroded, rusty, and BURNT..

Very likely, only the power supply is dead.

If you replace the power supply (with an external, or whatever), you
will probably find that it works.

High voltages are present only in a small part of the power supply,
and everywhere else, 12v is the maximum voltage.

Mine is dead and I would like to have one once again.

What part of yours is dead- the power supply, the hard disk, or the
controller?
