Clean the pick-up roller.For that matter it is an old beast. 'Dust' the entire paper path and rollers with clean dry paper towel. Rub lightly as you want to pick up excess toner, not friction heat it to bond onto the surface of what you are wiping. Follow that with a bit of Everclear(tm) on the wheels that touch the paper. Then pick up some rubber cleaner or rejuvinator (Auto parts store) and soak a bit of that into the pick-up roller using a q-tip for maximum benefit, dry it with another paper towel.
Worse case scenario, replace the pick-up roller if it is cracked and brittle or very worn.
