I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Bell & Howell ][+ has the ability to display lowercase characters... mine has a small switch under the keyboard and a wire running to the paddle sockets. I can't imagine this being anything other than a shift key mod, but programs that use lowercase just print gibberish to the screen. I've tried the switch in both positions with no difference... any ideas?
It is still most likely a shift-key mod. You don't have to be able to display true lower case to print it out. Some word processors showed inverse letters for upper case, and some used the HGR display to show upper and lower case. The hardware lower case mod was icing on the cake. The switch on the keyboard encoder board is used to either require control to be depressed with Reset to reset, or use Reset alone. -michael New, faster SUDOKU v2.0 solver for Apple II's!
