Re: Applle iie<->Apple iigs<->Mac Se<->eMac

Hey Wolfgang,
Your setup probably works, but i'm gonna guess that it can be
time-consuming to use. Have you tried using Apple Disk Transfer (ADT)
with a USB-to-serial adapter? That way you can send the 5.25 disks
directly from the eMac. A better version of ADT that works on OS X is
included in the Virtual II emulator. Then all you have to do is hook up
a null-modem serial cable between the USB-serial adapter and the Apple
II you're using. It works with II+, IIe, IIc, IIgs (though you need a
GS-specific version of ADT unless you use an old SSC card in it. the
built in ports use a different method to drive), etc.

Apple II <----null modem cable---> Keyspan serial adapter <---> eMac

here's the emulator (includes A2V2 transfer software - only does 5.25
disks)...

or use a java ADT version that runs on any platform...

Keyspan serial adapter to use...

you can either make your own cables or search for them on the web. if
you're using an old //e, you can use regular db-9 to db-15 serial
cables, provided the SSC is configured properly. email me offline if
you have a problem.

I'm a fan of the simple and clean solutions. unless you LIKE using 4
old computers to transfer the disks. ;)
