Re: asimov
This is truly amazing timing. Just today I was lamenting that the gno
FTP server seems to be permanently DEAD or out of comission, so it
occured to me that maybe it would be a good idea to duplicate
(primarily for myself) whatever Apple II FTP sites remain.
So I started with Asimov.
Like you, I was amazed how much stuff is in the "incoming" folder that
we are not allowed to touch. And I realized that some of the dates of
those files are from 2005. (But to be fair, the majority of them are
from March 2006.) SOMEONE is asleep at the switch.
So I figured I would download everything else that I could. I figured a
Sunday would be a good day to do it.
So how big is this backup? The remaining 9 folders contain 6,806 files,
taking up about 864 megabytes. So, yes, a backup would require either a
DVD or a pair of CDs.
I myself am going to make a DVD for my personal archives. I doubt it
would be proper to offer such a copy to others. Or would it? Comments?
Oh, and the email address of the administrator is, according to the
file on the root directory, bnh@iname.com. I suggest sending an email
and seeing what happens...
