prob you did this but try a diff power supply in the unit...and/or leave top 
off if you have a lot of cards and the room is warm...and/or dump all the 
cards that are not the zip and just try it in default mode with the zip

all this hopefully with a diff power supply that you hopefully think is 
ok..i had a power supply and it did not just die it just kinda driftted off 
once in awhile and had the same symptoms...put a diff one in and viola....

anyway my 2c worth disregard if you have already done the above

(myself i always find its the simple stuff...one time i was jumping up and 
down thougtht the beast was broke .opened it up and had forgot to plug the 
power supply in to the motherboard...only saw it when i was in full panic 
mode....story of my life....)
