Funny you should mention this:

I have a Transwarp //e. It has been in the same machine since 1990, and
working fine. I recently pulled it to test something out, and when I
reseated it, I got garbage on the screen during the boot.

I pulled it out, cleaned the card edge, and reseated every socketed
chip (which was every chip, pretty much. At least 25 or so.) and put it
back in. And now it works like a champ again.

Just a data point...
