Ah! I finally convinced my wife to let me get *one more* computer...
So I am looking for an Apple IIGS system on eBay. Those I found online
for sale, like B&R Computers, want $199 just for the CPU, whoa..
Though www.digitaldinos.com lists a ROM 01 with mouse and keyboard for
$30..
The biggest problem I have with eBay is figuring out what ROM the
system is. Most do not say, know, or seem to be able to figure it out.
In reading the Rubywand FAQ, it seems that www.allelec.com sold a rom
upgrade kit for the IIGS. Frustratingly, the site seems to be down.
It redirects me to the site icm.computercci.com and then I get a "Page
cannot be displayed". I got the same result by using pcAnywhere and
trying to connect from different places (systems in CT, VA, NC and
CA.). Does anyone know what they offer? Or are they gone?
After I get a IIGS, I want to add extra ram. Are there any compelling
reasons to look for an 8MB ram board? I figured I would fine with a
RAM-4-GS from GarberStreet if Bill has any left.
Cheers,
// CHRIS
