Bus, however it's a bus in the 'bus topology network' sense.

"Real" busses connect system components in terms of a processing units
native address space, providing a more-or-less seamless interconnect
void of marshalling.

Yep, this means that interfaces like SCSI, or even the Apple II's
Smartport aren't busses either, unless you use the topology sense.

Back in the nineties, we used to joke that the "U" in USB stood for
"Unused". Nowdays it's probably more accurately "Ubiquitous". So
although we were funny, we were somewhat short sighted :-)
