I guess it depends on what you mean by "well-known." They went
bankrupt around '84 and developed firstly for the Apple II, which was
quickly eclipsed as the primary computer gaming platform (though it was
admirable how many titles came out first for it). Aside from
*extremely* devoted retro fans, I doubt you'd find many gamers today
that had heard of them, and even those who remember something like
Repton wouldn't remember the company behind it.
