Re: IIgs RGB to YPbPr Component experiment
Had the opportunity to try another monitor... the Samsung 910MP.
This monitor is very unique for the USA because it actually has a SCART
connector capable of accepting unadulterated RGB directly.. without
having to use something like the Aptus1 RGB->YPbPr convertor. The
monitor is available refurbed for about $360.
How are the results? Much more fantastic than all the previous photos
I've posted. Nearly every flaw seen in with the other two monitors,
is solved with this one. Even the IIgs GSOS desktop looks *almost*
solid blue.
So for $360, you can have a 19" LCD that plugs directly into the IIgs
and works wonderfully. It will concurrently plug into your PC and
produce 1280x1024 rez, and provide TV channels as well. What a
bargain.
One downside -- the SCART input did not seem activated on the USA
Country Area setting. When I programmed the monitor (via menu) for
the UK, then input from the SCART was accepted. I did NOT have switch
the IIgs to PAL / 50hz.
No time to post photos at present. Maybe later.
