When you use a physical 5.25" controller card in Slot 6 of your IIgs,
just unplug the 5.25" drives from the floppy port and connect them to
the controller instead. Slot 6 should be set to "Your Card" in the
control panel anyway in this configuration, so the 5.25" drives at the
standard port are useless since the emulated Slot 6 is gone.

In the Apple II world, you can only ever connect two 5.25" drives per
card or port AFAIK. Using more requires using multiple cards. But then
again not that many situations call for more than two drives.
