    It is possible to be copy protection which it detects Apple //e's Disk 
II routines.  It is very different from Apple IIgs' Disk II routine.  You 
might want to try and move Apple //e's Disk II controller to Apple IIgs' 
motherboard.  Set 'Your Card' in slot 6 under Control Panel.  See if it 
works.  I use Zaxxon that it works fine on my Apple IIgs, but your Zaxxon 
may have earlier version which it is not capable to be compatible with Apple 
IIgs.  Apple IIgs is 99% compatible to Apple II family.
