So, big question, how do I make the -12 to -5v regulator?

Any idea how much power the A2 uses on the -5V rail? I notice the pinout specifies 200mA max for ALL peripheral slots, but what does the motherboard use?

12 down to 5 is a lot of extra heat (and wasted power) for a linear regulator if you're pulling much power. In that case you'll need a big heat sink or, better yet, a switch-mode (DC-DC converter).

You'll generally find circuits on the datasheet or app notes for your chosen regulator/switch-mode.
