Correction to myself:
This gave me an excuse to start digging into what would be involved in
connecting a IIGS to a component input. There's an off-the-shelf option
that might work. The Audio Authority 9A60 (google for it) is popular among
MythTV users who drive HD monitors with their computers. It's anywhere from
$100 on up, though.
** I get the impression that the 9A60 might not work for 480i scan
rates.
I'm not sure I'm wrong in this claim, but I'm not sure I'm right
either. Rather, it's the Key Digital ClearVideo3 converter that
states in its specs, "Does NOT support 480i or 576i video inputs".
I'm not sure what inputs they are referring to... those of the monitor,
or those on the device. Anyone thinking of purchasing the Audio
Authority 9A60 or the Key Digital CV3 might want to check with their
tech support first.
