There is no lack of versions of Ultima I through V out there for the
Apple II, but finding pristine images is extremely difficult. I'm
especially interested in Ultima III, where the overworld is unalterably
changed (chests, monsters).
Which versions of Ultima out there are best for pristine play, start to
finish, in an emulator-friendly format? In particular, does anyone
know what a pristine image of the Ultima III player disk should look
like?
I own the Ultima Collection, a PC CD-ROM with all of the original
Ultimas, but it would be nice to use an Apple version instead. Is it
possible to use the data from the original ultimas to reconstruct
pristine images for the apple?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. It would be wonderful to
play these games on the platform for which they were originally
designed.
