Backing Up Vulcan

A little while ago I acquired an Apple IIe with a 40 MB Vulcan drive and
interface. Right now, the drive is filled with the computer's previous
owner's stuff. I'd like to wipe the drive and get it set up how I want, but
I have this nagging feeling to preserve the drives original contents, as I
wonder if some of the stuff might come in handy later. So, what is the best
way to backup a Vulcan? Copy everything to a SCSI Zip drive? Make images of
the 2 partitions and copy that to a zip drive? Will a 32 MB dsk image fit on
a 32 MB ProDOS partition? Hmmm.........

I notice my beige g3 tower and an idea strikes me. The Vulcan HD is just a
regular IDE drive, right? Mac OS 9 can mount ProDOS disks. If I install the
Vulcan hard drive in my g3 tower can OS 9 mount and use it? Then on the Mac
I would be able to image it, compress it, email it, zip disk it,
etc..........

Thanks,
Greg
