At least Apple had the decency to cancel Pippin. I notice IE 6, which is on the list as well, is still the current version of IE all these years later. Nice work, Microsoft.

And this is _PC_ World reporting it.

Well they do their "PC World" job too, Real player was shown like dead or something. So, it makes it neutral article :)

Real built an empire on Symbian and Linux based (device) stuff not even counting it is the only maintained 3rd party multimedia player besides iTunes on Apple OS X. Sorry, flip4mac doesn't count.

They also have 2.2 million paying subcsribers. How many people pay to wmedia broadband services? Sorry, they don't exist :)

Thing is, the PC World is considered a reliable and "fun" source and I have just read an article calling realplayer dead in my language.

So... Overpriced, never doing the job right, never scalable to Helix server levels Windows Media Server and Windows Enterprise resellers have a good ,reliable "reference" in their hands now.

Sad is, people still attack Real Player (on geek sites) while they have a never maintained anymore Windows Media Player which doesn't even work on Mactel in hand.
