Yeah, you need to set Y to 0 before calling the move routine.

Since the AppleWin screen update is not synchronized to the emulated
VBL, there's actually not much use using $C019 yet unless it's on a
real Apple //e.

Here's a version of your demo which uses simple delays via $FCA8. You
can see the current delay value on the screen, alter it with left &
right arrow keys, any other key exits. #$41 seems to be about the best
for AppleWin on my system.
