Cheques never really "clear" in the way that you mean (that the receipt
of the money is guaranteed). It's quite possible to pay a cheque into a
bank account, have it "clear" after the usual 3-5 working-day processs,
and then have it subsequently declared "fraudulent" days or weeks down
the line. DAMHIK,IJK,OK?
