I like this idea. It meshes perfectly with my own concepts, plus
extends it so that the clone board has a potentially longer 'life'
since the brains of the operation is pluggable and thus upgradeable.

It does raise the question though of exactly what kind of physical
interfacing such a mini-board should have. What exactly did you have in
mind ?
