Re: Why no Apple II retro devices?
I (almost) envy your fabulous collection ...
As a digital watch fan myself, fashion concious friends used to laugh
back in the early 90's when I wore Casio's high-end databank watch ...
until I revealed I had up to 100 phone numbers in there. That usually
replaced laughter with amazement.
Of course now, cellphones do so much more ... storing numbers but also
calling them. My cellphone is my pocket watch, alarm clock, camera (for
storing prices, model numbers, DVD titles - unless stupid shops
disallow it) and even flashlight. Very handy even before considering
the emailing, web browsing, java games/apps capability.
Here in Tokyo the next big day-to-day convenience is using cellphones
to pay for train rides and small items in shops. I'm just disappointed
that Sholes (QWERTY) keyboards didn't catch on for phones. Then an
Apple II em would be quite feasible. But for that I have my Sharp
Zaurus. ;-)
Cheers,
Nick.
