I cut up a disk II controller (good card to use, it has gold
on every pin on the connector), pulled all the IC's,
cut up an IDE CDROM drive and grabbed the IDE
connector...
bolted the two together,
soldered wires on all the required pins on the II peripheral
connector, routed them through level translators, to the
IDE connector.. The Spartan3 board plugs right into
the IDE connector (2 pins too many on the IDE, I stuck
a Hard Drive jumper block on the extra pins)
I've been playing with: counters, interrupt generator,
transferring data back and forth between Spartan3 and
the Apple II, video synch seperator/light gun interface.
