Re: Apple II Wikipedia articles
Simon,
Thanks for your post. I have no objections to someone contributing to
the Wikipedia. I myself contribute on other subjects there. And I can
understand an Apple II fan contributing to the Wikipedia on this
subject. However, I do have major objections with the thinking that
Apple2Guide.net is somehow not worthwhile now that we have the
Wikipedia.
Nobody had these objections to the original static version of the
guide. It's like once you start a site using wiki software it's deemed
to be useless and worthless, because the same things can be done on the
Wikipedia. I find that quite flawed reasoning. And, as I've stated, if
only for the purpose of variety and independent wiki sites from the
Wikipedia, Apple2Guide.net is worthwhile. Add to this that
Apple2Guide.net is not merely an encyclopedia, but a guide, and I think
it's not difficult to see that it has a place and purpose apart from
the great Wikipedia.
PZ and the like-minded, respectfully but confidently I say: Make your
Apple II portal page. Apple2Guide.net will stand and continue, in spite
of you overlooking it.
