Hello all.
I was reading through some old Hardware Hacking compilations from CSA2 and
noticed this:
From: Adalbert Goertz
026- What IC do I need to use the GS-RAM Plus in my Apple IIgs?
You need the GSPLD1A.1 for a ROM-01 GS and the GSPLD1B.1 for a ROM 3 GS.
My main question here is about the GAL for the board. I can crack and
produce copies of the GAL for people who want it. Does anyone know if the
GAL is really required for the board to work or was there some 'fix' or
'work around' that I haven't yet read about rendering the GAL upgrade
obsolete?
Thanks.
PS - Any other boards like this that needed a PLD replaced to be upgraded?
Maybe I can add those to the Store also. As always, JEDEC files are free if
you want to burn your own IC. I have the "GSPLD1A-Q". Does someone have
the "1B" version they would be willing to let me copy? Thanks.
We at GSE-Reactive.com have been debating about stocking older DRAMs for
boards for some time. Since we buy things in bulk we should be able to
offer a fair price back to the community. Look for 256k and 1 Meg IC's
available in our Store soon!
