Re: Apple2Guide.net is open!
Simon,
There's a silly expression I've heard about Wikis:
"None of us is as smart as all of us."
The basic idea of a wiki is that no single person knows enough about
all elements of the Apple II to write a whole webpage him (or her)self.
So what you do is make a website that allows just about anyone to add
just about anything at just about anytime at just about anywhere in the
site.
Over time, after lots of people have added their two cents about
something, and after lots of eyeballs have read every article and made
corrections when necessary, you have an Apple II encyclopedia filled
with stuff that's been checked by people who should really know.
At least, that's the theory.
Those red hypertext links go to pages that haven't been written yet. If
you (yes, you) know something about a topic with a red link, start
typing and add to the site. If you see an error, log in and correct it.
Or just browse away, enjoying new content as it gets added. It will
take time, but I bet it WILL happen.
