I think he Mac will need to have the PC Exchange extension installed to
recognize a ProDOS diskette. You can write ProDOS diskettes from disk
images with Disk Dup+, though I'm not sure if PC Exchange is needed for
that.

Chances are the school installation isn't going to be good for what you
need... I'd see about reinstalling the System from scratch. ISTR you
had lost access to the CD drive, which might hinder installation, but
you can still install from floppies. I've done it many times -- it
takes 17 disks and about an hour, but it might be your best bet...
