Alternatively, you can first try to clean the contacts. The gold-plating on
the contacts of those cards are often of not-so-good quality, so they tend
to oxidize after all those years. You can remove the oxidization with a
pencil-eraser. Give the contacts a good rub, you'll see that the gold will
turn more yellow. Then clean all the rubber/eraser-stuff from the contacts
using a piece of cloth. The contacts should be as new now.
