    Seeing off topic Macintosh-related posts to comp.sys.apple2 is 
annoying, yes, but it's likely to be more common these days. Apple 
stopped manufacturing and selling the Apple II more than a dozen
years ago, and we're starting to see a generation growing up who 
has _no_ idea what an "Apple II" is, let alone seen or used one.

    I think off-topic posts (like the Macintosh) to this group are now 
way overshadowed by problems likes newsgroup spam, bickering
and flames or just extremely low traffic. Mind you, what does bug
me is when people follow up to Macintosh posts with answers,
encouraging more Macintosh subject chatter. Posts involving the
use of the Apple II and Macintosh together are welcome, or anything 
they once had in common (e.g. Zilog SCC, IWM/SWIM, floppy,
ADB, LocalTalk, HFS, Snow White design, etc).

    The current day Macintosh and Apple II are complete foreign
now, even in general appearance, so it's not likely there would
be reason to bring up any current Mac's here. Interestingly, this 
group used to be called 'comp.sys.apple' but had to undergo a 
name change to keep Mac posts out. Maybe one day it'll need to 
be called 'comp.sys.apple2.vintage'. ;)
