But I'd like to be able to draw a graph or some "complex" display of
let's say a wave with numbers and text and colors, for example, with a
decent resolution.
One is vectors/shapes/text the other is a bitmap.
You don't usually need to save this kind of drawings as a bitmap, rather
you redraw it from primitives.
In this sense, it makes sense.
As for the bitmaps, it doesn't.

Didn't one of the Lasers have a 560x384 mode and support for up to 80x48 text by sticking page 1 above page 2?
