GS Shrinkit - Newbie question

I am just back in the GSWorld after a very long absence. I'm struggling with
GSShrinkit and I hope someone can help me.

I have used ZLink to transfer some .shk files over to the GS. If I use the
IIe version of Shrint-it, I can get them to extract fine. You just have to
swap disks 100 times or so. I just downloaded a disk that has 6.01 and
GS-Shrinkit on it called "GSUTILS" that I created with the IIe version of
Shrinkit. I also have a disk called "Data" that has a .sdk on it.

Here's what I do:

1) I boot up the GSUtils disk.
2) Pop that disk out
3) Put in the disk called "Data"
4) Pull down File menu, select Open, then double click on the file name of
the disk image file.
5) A dialog box comes up and asks me to select device for extraction. The
name is ".APPLEDISK3.5A"
6) I click "Eject" to get the "Data" disk out and put in the disk I want the
image on.
7) It asks me if I want to format and I select "Yes".
8) Disk gets formated. After that, it prompts me to put "Data" back in.
9) I then put "Data" in and it starts to read in the image. To this point I
am good.
10) GSHK comes back and asks me to load the "GSUTILS" disk and then proceeds
to overwrite it. It never asks for the disk I just created.

Sometimes it will come back and ask for "Data", sometimes for "GSUTILS",
never the disk I want it to go to. It took a few times to figure this out. I
am sure it is something I am doing wrong. I have tried blank disk, formatted
disks, disks with data, everything and I just can't get it to write to the
correct disk. At this point I would almost rather use the IIe version as it
at least won't overwrite stuff.

Please enlighten a poor guy who just wants to play "Defender of the Crown".
Thanks for the help!
