So do arcane pixel and raster mappings. ;-)
Stick with the simpler (but still better) scheme that lores uses. Two
pixels per byte, 16 colours. If linear mapping is used in main memory,
we get can 120x136 or 128x128 out of hires pages 1 and 2 with only 64
bytes wasted.
Alternatively the graphics memory for the extra mode could be placed on
the card only, and 'windowed' via I/O locations, with configurable
resolutions.
Realistically, the only ongoing development that might use such a mode
is going to be Contiki, so perhaps we should ask for Oliver's advice.
