Seriously, the instructions have tiny text, and I was worried about JPEG
blurring it out.  As I see it, people will either want something that
faithfully reproduces the original (big), or an OCRed ASCII text version of
the instructions that they can use (tiny).  JPEG fills a middle ground
that is less useful than the other two options.

I don't have OCR software or the patience to type it in by hand, so I
just posted the PNGs.  If somebody wants to ASCIIfy the instructions and
send them to me, I'll put it up on the web site too.

And we thank you for using the lossless PNG format rather than the JPG!

Like you said, "what's a modem?". Most of us have big hard drives, and broadband, so getting accurate scans is better than smaller, unreadable ones.
