The 65T32 thing is based on the preliminary specs of the 65832 which
stayed "preliminary" for about 6 years before WDC mothballed the
project. Seems that demand has dropped significantly for 8 & 16 bit
microcontrollers due to the low cost of competing 32 bit designs and
good ol' Billy needed to finally come up with something new thus
bringing the 65832 back into existance with a few modifications. Now
it looks like it'll be more like a 65"16"32.
This chip might have some potential, hopefully he doesn't screw the
pooch by doing something stupid like he did by internalizing the clock
on the 6551 and locking it at 19.2kbps when the old 6551 was capable of
doing 1.4Mbps with an external xtal. (I think you can do the same with
the WDC version, but what a waste of die space!)
