There is a simpler and cheaper option than trying to make the 10 pin
IDC to Mini-DIN-8F cables for the Apple II Workstation card. Use DE-9
connectors instead. I think the card was designed for them originally
because you can just crimp a 9 wire flat cable between the 10 pin IDC
and the 9 pin D type (both are female) with pin 1 going to pin 1. Then
you simply get an AppleTalk or PhoneNet box with DE-9M plug (or in my
case I took a PhoneNet box with a damaged mini-Din-8 plug and replaced
it with a DE-9M. This also has the advantage of being easy to fit to
the rear panel of a IIe as it has spare DE-9 knockouts.
