Re: Help With Time in a Bottle

Wow! Thanks everyone for the overwhelming response. I won't know any
more about the Mac until I can buy it on Monday. It'd be great if it
happened to have the //e card inside, but no big deal if it doesn't.
The main thing is being able to get software off the CDs and onto
floppies. I have 3.5" floppy drives for both my GS and //c, so it
should be a simple matter to transfer software from there. I like the
idea of being able to get the Mac on the internet, so I can download
some of the software archives for easier transference. The way it
looked earlier, I thought I was going to have to store the internet
archives on an old PC and use ADT to transfer them. For the CD set, I
was going to hook up a CD-ROM to my GS, but this proved not to be as
easy as I had thought. The GS has a CFFA hard drive, which isn't part
of the chain on my SCSI card that the CD ROM would be hooked to. Turns
out that this setup meant there was no termination power (or something
like that) for the CD ROM. Bill Garber assures me there's a way around
that, but I've been having a hard time getting my stuff to him so he
can fix it. (Besides, I'm inclined to think we'd all be better off if
he concentrated on some of his other projects. ;-) Anyway, I'll see
about getting the Mac on Monday and let everyone know what it has.
