Nope Ralph, that's not possible unless your Mac has a PDS connector and
you buy an apple2 card. Then you can plug the 5,25 drive to this card.
If you plug the 5,25 drive to the Mac it won't work. Not all the Macs
had a PDS connector, and the ones that do are quite old and 68k based
iirc.

The only other 5,25 drive that the Macs ever had was a pc drive that had
a nubus interface card or an se/pds interface card.

And you can always send the .dsk images through the serial port to the
apple2.

Or you can also turn on file sharing on the Mac side and access it from
the gs via appleshare/localtalk with an 8pin minidin serial cable or a
pair of phonenet adapters and a phone cable... of up to 30 meters iirc.

If you are going to buy an LC475 (or a Quadra 605 that's the same), its
an excellent machine. It has a 68lc040@25MHz that can be replaced by a
68040 (the lc==LessCoprocessor). It can be easily overclocked to 33Mhz
just by moving a couple of resistors, and can accept a 64Mb ram dimm,
although Apple never said so. And it can drive any modern monitor up to
1024*768. Ethernet comes as a PDS add on card, so if you plug the a2
card then you can't have ethernet, not at the same time.

I hope this helps.
