Hi all,
I'm about at my wit's end with a PEBKAC issue, and I need some
help finding out where I've gone wrong in the head...
I've got two Super Serial Cards, an Apple IIe, an Apple II Plus,
several PCs, and a smattering of cabling that's known good...
So I set my SSC to 19200, N-8-1. I set up Telix on a PC to match.
PR#2:IN#2
Every byte transmitted from the PC is perfect. Every byte received
from the Apple II has its eighth bit high!
It does this with either card, on either Apple, with any null-modem
cable, at any speed, and with any other PC on the receiving end.
I've:
* verified my DIP switch settings six ways to sunday,
* reseated the chips,
* cleaned them with IPA,
* tested the DIP switches with a DMM,
* cleaned my motherboard sockets and slots,
* read, and reread the fine manual and the FAQ just to be safe,
* and sacrificed a chicken** to the Great Wizard Woz
So, the obvious question; What am I doing wrong?
Josef
