ANN: More noisy software.

A few years back I tried writing a musical keyboard program for the
Apple II that was slightly more interesting than "Apple Organ"... What
came out of this brave effort was the Omnivox Tru-Tone Digital Sound
Generator, which attempted to "synthesize" interesting sounds by
rapidly sequencing short bursts of square-wave tone. Unfortunately the
Applesoft routine that handled keyboard input was so slow that it was
virtually impossible to pick out even the simplest of tunes... :(

This afternoon I finally got round to compiling the darned thing (using
the Beagle Compiler) and lo and behold all my short-comings as a
programmer have miraculously disappeared... sort of. The end result
actually is slightly more interesting than "Apple Organ", though it
still has one or two problems (like not playing anywhere near in tune).
If you have the desire to irritate your loved ones with some 8-bit
bleepery, you can download the program from the following locations.
