Of that list, only three (DVD, MPEG, iPod) wouldn't have been in use back
then. As for the others, there would've only been so much space on a floppy
for the dictionary. IIRC, AppleWorks 3.0 on 3.5" floppies has a more
comprehensive dictionary included with it than AppleWorks 3.0 on 5.25"
floppies. I suspect they only included words that would've been in general
usage. I've had some sort of Internet access nearly continuously since
1989, but it took several years after that before it was widely available
outside academia, government, and certain large corporations.
Still, it's a neat anecdote. I can't remember the last time I fired up
AppleWorks (the program that calls itself by the same name on my Mac mini
doesn't count, as it doesn't open the files created on my II).
