Now online: "Applesoft II Basic Programming Reference Manual"

Hello all,

thanks to Ali Ross, another Apple manual is online as PDF: The 1978 "Applesoft II Basic Programming Reference Manual". It's an early, but fairly thorough discussion of Applesoft, including much information on quirks and unexpected behaviour of certain commands in unusual conditions. It seems to have been written before the Disk II drive and the Apple II+ became available, and thus doesn't refer to them; it covers both the RAM version of Applesoft and the "firmware card" version residing on a card in Slot#0 though, and the latter is functionally identical to the version that later appeared on the II+ motherboard.

Of course the manual doesn't cover the small changes to Applesoft made in the 2e, 2c and 2gs; other than that it probably tells you more than you ever wanted to know about the language. A working knowledge of programming in general and of BASIC in particular is assumed in the manual; it's not very helpful for total beginners.

You can find it here:

Be sure though to download the *Reference* Manual! The one without "Reference" in the title is a self-teaching tutorial on Integer BASIC.
