One of the best 680x0 Macintosh models is the IIci.  68030 with
68882 math chip, 32-bit clean ROMs, up to 128MB memory, room for
a taller hard drive, cache and speedup cards available, three
Nubus slots, built-in video, the lid opens up like an Apple II
(compact Macs are a pain, even dangerous because of the CRT),
currently very cheap, but you cannot install a IIe card.

The Mac Plus is okay, but it needs the same keyboard and mouse
as the original Mac (and Lisa?) and requires an external hard
drive.  Later Macintosh models use ADB and eventually (newer
Power Macintosh models) USB keyboards and mice.  The Mac
Classic uses a special memory expansion board.  The Mac SE has
two versions; one can only handle 800Kb disks.
