I take care of all my floppies and rarely have lost one.

I agree that USB flash, CD burner, wifi, zip and such is superior.  But 
this in no way shape or form means that floppies are dead. The same can 
be said of tapes which have their use over CD and MP3.  I own a walkman, 
discman and Mp3 player.  When I walk I bring my tape player for many 
reasons. 

a.  Longer battery life
b.  AM/FM/TV/WB functions
c.  It does not skip when the tapes are scratched.
