I use 5.25" and 3.5" floppies for my Apple IIe and //gs. And they're fine for those machines. But with flash drives and media, I see no reason why they should be continued to be used and expected on new PCs. I have no floppy drive on my newer Macs and no floppy drive on my Linux box-- I have an internal multi-media card reader installed instead.
