Re: Games With Mockingboard Support

I'd like to see if this could be further broken down into games that use the mockingboard for music, sound effects, and speech.

Also for music, does it support the sound-1 (mono output) (1 AY-3-8913), Mockingboard A/Sound-2 (2), or Phasor (4). I know that ultima IV and V supported combining multiple lower boards (IV supported 2x sound-1, V supported 2x mockingboard A).

Also, where there any other AY-based compatible sound cards besides the ALF (apparently a sound-1 compatible with a single AY chip?)

Which Card (sound [1],mockingboard [A]/Sound-2, [P]hasor), Music, Sound Effects, Speech, Game Title, (notes -- e.g., must the card be in slot 4, configurable, how to activate card, etc?)

1 Y N N Ultima III (single channel output on A,P, not dual mono)
A Y N N Ultima IV (slot configurable with menu)
P Y N? N? Ultima V (slot configurable with menu,supported other midi output also)
? Y N ? Music Construction Set
A? Y Y N Skyfox (Hit ? to toggle mockingboard? Sometimes a bug would shut off music output but sound effects would still work.)
? N Y N Broadside
? Y ? ? Pitfall II

Is there a definative list of games that supported the Mockingboard?

Now that this thread has quieted down, I compiled a list from all the
titles that were mentioned. I also uncovered several more titles to add that also support the Mockingboard:

-Ultima III
-Ultima IV
-Ultima V
-Music Construction Set
-SKyfox
-Willy's Byte
-Thunderbombs
-Lancaster
-Under Fire
-GuitarMaster
-Music Star
-GI-Joe
-BerZap
-Maze Craze
-Tactical Armor Command
-Bank Street Music Writer
-One on One
-Night Flight
-Rescue Raiders (v1.3)
-Spy Strikes Back
-Zaxxon
-Pitfall II
-Crime Wave
-Adventure Construction Set
-Crypt of Medea
-Airsim-3 -Apple Cider Spider -Auto Gyro -Bouncing Kamungas -Broadside -Clarinet Master -Flute Master -Lady Tut -Maze Craze -Saxophone Master -Silent Service -Singing Master -Trumpet Master -Window -ZooKeeper It's also mention mentioning the 5.25 disks that accompanied the Phasor (4 sides) and Mockingboard (2 sides), or Jimmy Huey's ProDOS ALF Player which supports a hardware Mockingboard in an Apple IIe and emulates one in software when run on a stock IIgs. If you happen to purchase the Mockingboard clone from GSE, here's the music player along with over 5 megabytes of songs files I uploaded a few years back (you can also listen to these on a stock Apple IIgs, though keep in mind while quite good, the emulation is not 100% accurate):
