Thanks for the info here on the "auto-off" decay, and the effect of the drive assymetry, which I've not seen elsewhere. Sather devotes only one paragraph to the Apple ][ speaker - strange compared to his whole chapters on all the timing and video aspects of the machine. Cheers, Nick.
